About

Hannah is an accomplished artist known for her ability to capture the essence of subjects with expression and depth.
Based in rural Wiltshire where she has a studio, she specialises in commissioned works that range from large scale installations to small representational sketches.
Her artistic journey began at an early age, with a natural affinity for drawing and an inherent passion for capturing character and movement in particular through visual expression.
In her professional career, Hannah has become highly sought after for custom portrait commissions. She is known for working in a variety of mediums, including charcoal, graphite, oil paints, and pastels, each chosen to best suit the desired tone and effect for the portrait.
Her work is recognised for its rich texture, fluid marks, and the ability to capture a subject’s sense of life, making each portrait a timeless piece of art. Horses have always been a source of considerable inspiration, and a life spent in close proximity, training and riding horses has led to a particular understanding and passion for capturing the form and motion of these animals.
This is most obvious in her longstanding connection with Jockey Club racecourses, Exeter, Wincanton and Kempton, creating paintings to commission to celebrate winners of their annual feature races. From painting beloved family ponies, to top racehorses, the same attention to detail and expression is evident in her work.
Always exploring new projects, a recent foray into the world of ballet and dance allowed her expressive approach to form and movement a new outlet, working with dancers, animation and music is an area she is excited about developing. Alongside portraiture, she is developing a practice in drawing and painting the natural world, from landscapes to studies of plants and wildlife within it. Always drawn to working from life, making expressive marks whether painting or drawing.
In addition to commissions, Hannah exhibits her work in galleries, a highlight so far includes showing at Messums Wiltshire in their Art in motion; Spirit of the Horse exhibition 2017. Future shows planned include showing recent pieces as part of the Wylye Valley art Trail, alongside other talented local artists as part of the Secret Wardour exhibition, venue 52.
